The Los Angeles Cocktail
1 oz. fresh lemon juice
1 tsp. sugar
1 egg
1-1/2 oz. rye (or bourbon)
1/4 oz. sweet vermouth

Shake with ice, and strain into a cocktail glass.

In my day, any cocktail with a whole egg was called a “Flip”. I wonder if that still holds true. The idea sounds gross but they were always very good.
