[...] Anita at Married with Dinner exposed herself as a locavore on her blog and wrote a great post about what it means to her to commit to the challenge. She’s clarified her own rules and is ready to get started. I can’t wait to see what they come up with as the challenge goes on. [...]

Corn of their own? Wheat of their own? noway! (Dunno if I can hack the whole wheat, though, but maybe for thickening and such.)

<strike>I used to love FBF, but we have been really disappointed in the quality of their produce this year. I know organic sometimes means that you see a worm-hole or two, but the last bag of greens I bought from them was so riddled that I had to compost half of what I bought.</strike> I realized I was confusing FBF with a vendor at the Ferry Building market -- which Full Belly doesn't even attend. Mea culpa!!

Cojones!!! Brava.
I don't think I would try as hard as you. Well, two meals in a week, yeah, I could do that.
So guess what. Full Belly Farm has not only whole wheat flour, but also fresh ground dried corn!! Polenta, baby. We just bought our first bag this morning. And they have almonds and walnuts. I love that farm.

Ann: Thanks for the encouragement.

Jennifer: Our extra freezer is a huge help, but given that our main fridge's freezer is so tiny (we have a counter-depth model) it's more like a necessity. Even so, the 'extra' freezer is just the top half of a fridge/freezer that we use for parties, stock-chilling, and extra wine and beer, so it's not like we have a ton of space for socking away produce -- hence the pressure canner. But you guys are welcome anytime! :D
Squeat! Where you been? :)
As for the booze... well, stay tuned.

We try to go heavy on locally grown or produced products year round, but it sure does get more challenging in the winter months. I'm hoping that in our next space we have a bigger freezer (or better - room for a chest freezer) and more space to can and store things as well.

Don't be surprised if in a few months we're begging to come out and crash with you guys. ;)
