Anita,

Gave this a try after your recommendation. Quite tasty. The rye is balanced so beautifully and adds just the right kick!

This sounds like it could be my perfect cocktail. I am lucky enough to have some Lillet in the fridge, and this will be a fun treat. Thanks!

Cool. I'm always looking for more uses for that bottle of Lillet I keep in the fridge for Vespers and spicing up Sidecars.
I'll try this one soon!

Funny, I picked up a bottle of Lillet on a whim last week, and I would've taken it straight over ice with a twist...but I googled Lillet recipes and came across something called a Stargazer: equal parts Lillet and Rye, dash of bitters, shaken with ice and strained. I'd just bought a bottle of Knob Creek, as well, so I mixed up bourbon and Lillet with bitter and added a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, and strained the cold mix into a chilled martini glass smeared with a twist. It was delightful, and so close to the cocktail described here. Who knew bourbon and Lillet would play so nicely together?

Jimmy -- You funny. We always do drink posts on Friday; our MxMo entries are always MxFris.
