I too have made this pie since the 60's {married in 1962} still make it for holidays. Got it out of my old Ladies Home Journal Cook book. Always a hit. My 43 yr. old daughter called me this evening and wanted the receipe for a dinner party, but my cook book is inaccessable due to remodel. I am so happy to find it on line. thanks

What is it about the need to relegate men's cooking abilities to the back yard? As if they did it indoors, they'd be -- y'know... Ew?
Pshaw.
I love your family history.
I love that you know it's a "shirtwaist" dress. I had one in sixth grade, but it was a two-piece. The shirt tucked into the, uh, waist. Heh.
Yer mom's cute.
