We also picked up some Eagle Rare from Blackwell's. I finally understand why bourbon is so addictive, after buying that 12-year-old Van Winkle, which Blackwell still has. I was expecting to go back (after a month hiatus) and find the Van Winkle supply gone, but no! Even in my relatively poor financial state, I think $39 for that bottle is a bargain.

Andrew likes the Czech Fernet we buy Blackwell's. It has become his "restorative" when he comes in from his bike ride home from work. I think it tastes kind of like aftershave.

Re: Blackwell's

We love Blackwell's and, in an example of perfect timing, just picked up a bottle of their hand-selected Eagle Rare a couple of weekends ago. It is fantastic.

From a purely selfish perspective, the more folks competing to bring Buffalo Trace products to SF, the better. Can we get this going for Pappy Van Winkle?

The Eagle Rare is 5 bucks cheaper at Blackwell's than it is at PlumpJack. We were just at Blackwell's this weekend, and they say PlumpJack "stole" the buying-a-barrel-of-Eagle-Rare from them.

Bourbon kick? And you didn't pick up a bottle of Blackwell's W&S hand-selected single barrel bottling of Eagle Rare 10yr old? For shame!!! Btw - there's also hand-picked barrel bottles of the Elmer T. Lee (if you're in the mood for something a little sweeter than the Eagle Rare)

"Very Tasty and Quite Reasonably Priced are my *favorite* burlesque performers! Can't wait to try the Weller and I'm long overdue for a visit to Plumpjack!

I can't believe you went to the Bayshore bevmo without picking up a litre of two of white zinfandel; but, Miss Thing, let me tell you there are few better deals in this world than the W.L. Weller 12 Year, especially at clubbev prices. Also, Mr. Drew at the 24th street plumpjack has a very nice 10 year old Eagle Rare whose cask he hand selected. Very Tasty and also quite reasonably priced.

Girlfriend, you gotta stop hanging out with us queers. It's starting to rub off. :-) so now we know where Dorothy Parker gets her brewskis!

So you're on a bourbon kick, eh? I'm working up a post. Stay tuned ...
