"And then rattled on about various artifacts as we slowly drifted past a huge glass case of erotic statuary and appurtenences."
appurtenences? No results found for appurtenences.
Dictionary suggestions:
appurtenances
–noun 1. something subordinate to another, more important thing; adjunct; accessory.
I love your site. You make me feel smart and hungry.

Oh lordy. I used to live close to Chinatown and would see families on these tours and feel sorry for them. Five hours in Chinatown is too much for anyone I think, unless you have a charming, smart, interesting guide who knows all sorts of tidbits and can duck down alleys the natives never knew existed. Every now and then I'm tempted to take my kid on one of these tours, but you've effectively nudged that idea out of my mind forever. Thank you!
